UAE Clinches Victory Over Nepal, Secures Final Spot in ACC Men’s Premier Cup T-20 Cricket

In a gripping showdown at the ACC Men’s Premier Cup T-20 Cricket, United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged triumphant, defeating Nepal by six wickets in the semifinal clash today.

With this resounding victory, UAE secures its berth in the final, poised to face the winner of the subsequent semifinal match between Oman and Hong Kong, scheduled for later today. The showdown, held at the Al-Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, witnessed Nepal being invited to bat first after losing the toss, setting a target of 120 runs for UAE.

In response, UAE showcased stellar batting prowess, successfully chasing down the target in 17.2 overs while losing four wickets in the process. Alishan Sharafu led the charge for UAE, amassing 55 runs off 41 balls, steering his team towards victory.

Contributions from Vishnu Sukumaran (28 runs), Syed Haider (14 runs), Muhammad Waseem (11 runs), and Asif Khan (10 runs) further bolstered UAE’s batting lineup. Nepal’s bowling effort saw Gulsan Jha claiming two wickets, with Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi taking one wicket each.

In their innings, Nepal struggled to build momentum, posting a total of 119 runs in 20 overs, losing all wickets in the process. Sandeep Jora emerged as the top scorer for Nepal, notching up 50 runs, supported by Gulsan Jha (20 runs) and Karan KC (17 runs), while other batters failed to reach double-digit figures.

UAE’s bowling attack, led by Junaid Siddique, Ali Naseer, Aayan Afzal Khan, and Muhammad Farooq, proved effective, with each claiming a wicket apiece.

Nepal had advanced to the semifinals as the winner of Group ‘A’, having secured victories in all four group-stage matches, while UAE secured the runner-up position in Group ‘B’.

With UAE’s commanding performance securing them a spot in the final, anticipation grows for an electrifying showdown as the tournament progresses towards its thrilling conclusion.
