US Under Secretary met Prime Minister Prachanda
US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, who arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for a two-day visit to Nepal, met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Under Secretary Nuland reached Baluwatar on Monday morning to meet Prime Minister Prachanda, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center. In the meeting, relations between the two countries and mutual interests were discussed.
In a tweet from the Prime Minister’s official Twitter handle, it has been announced that the relationship between the two countries and mutual interests were discussed during the meeting.

The US has given great importance to this meeting with Prachanda, the supreme commander of the former rebels, who has a different opinion on the MCC agreement in Nepal.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nuland is scheduled to meet today with Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and others.

Tweeting about Under Secretary Nuland’s visit to Nepal, US Ambassador to Nepal Dean Richard Thompson informed that Under Secretary Nuland will meet Nepal’s top leaders and discuss economic security, diplomatic flexibility and other issues. He also mentioned that historical relations with Nepal have been strengthened through high-level exchanges.
This is the first high-level visit from the US after the general elections in Nepal on November 20.
