Wild Elephant Attack Claims One Life in Chitwan

A man lost his life following an attack by a wild elephant in eastern Chitwan.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Suresh Mahato, a permanent resident of Khairhani Municipality who was living in Ratnanagar Municipality-7.

According to Chitwan National Park Information Officer Abinash Thapa Magar, Mahato was attacked on Saturday near the Chitwan Adventure Hotel in Laukhani, Ratnanagar-7. The wild elephant, known as Gobinde, fatally struck him, resulting in his death on the spot.

With this incident, the number of fatalities caused by wild animal attacks in the current fiscal year has risen to 11.
