World’s longest rafting competition to be held in March

The world’s longest rafting competition is going to be organized in March under the aegis of Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA), Nepal River Conservation Organization (NRCT) and Karnali Basin Conservation Foundation.

In a press conference held here, the organizer NARA said that they are going to organize the world’s longest 248 km raft race, The Great Karnali Quest-2024, from March 8 to 13.

Chairman of The Great Karnali Quest, Megh Ale, said that they are going to run a 248 km raft race from Rakam Karnali in Aathbiskot Municipality of Dailekh to Daulatpur Ghat in Kailali. He mentioned that The Great Karnali Quest race will also connect the identity, economic and tourism development of Karnali. NARA President Shiva Adhikari expressed his belief that the Great Karnali Quest Raft Race will help in the development of Nepal’s tourism sector.

16 teams have been opened for registration in the competition from February 5 to 24. The organizers have confirmed that six international teams will participate in the competition so far. Earlier, ‘The Great Karnali Quest’ scheduled for November 23 to 28 was postponed due to the Jajarkot earthquake.
