‘3 Idiots’ actor Akhil Mishra dies at 67

Actor Akhil Mishra, known for playing the role of librarian Dubey in Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’, died on September 21. The actor is survived by his wife and actress, Suzanne Bernert. The 67-year-old actor was shooting for a project in Hyderabad.

Suzanne’s publicist confirmed the news of the actor’s death and revealed he died after he slipped in the kitchen. “He was on a chair in the kitchen trying to do something, when he reportedly fell down and hurt his head. He was found in a pool of blood and was rushed to the hospital. Even after efforts by the doctors, he could not survive and died after a few hours.”

Over the years, Akhil Mishra has appeared in films like ‘Don’, ‘Gandhi My Father’, ‘Shikhar’ and many more. His role as the librarian Dubey from ‘3 Idiots’ was widely loved. Besides films, Akhil has also been a part of several popular television shows, like ‘Uttaran’, ‘Udaan’, ‘CID’, ‘Shrimaan Shrimati’, ‘Hatim’ and others.

On the personal front, Akhil married German actress Suzanne Bernert on February 3, 2009. They later got married in a traditional ceremony on September 30, 2011.
