
Balkot Twin Murder: Eldest Son Confesses to Killing Father and Brother


Rupesh Acharya has confessed to killing his father, Kul Prasad Acharya, 56, and younger brother, Praveen Acharya, 22, in a shocking incident at their rented residence in Balkot, Surya Binayak Municipality-2.
The victims were found dead on Sunday morning. Kul Prasad, a permanent resident of Majhuwagadhi Municipality-2, Khotang, was serving as the officiating chief of the District Post Office, Khotang. He had traveled to Bhaktapur on December 13 to visit his sons.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Sanuram Bhattarai, Rupesh admitted during preliminary interrogation to committing the murders on Saturday night due to what he described as “increased pressure” from his father and brother. After the crime, he locked the room from the outside and fled on a scooter the following morning.
Rupesh was arrested on Sunday from Maharajgunj in Kathmandu and has been brought back to Bhaktapur for further investigation. Authorities are continuing to interrogate him to uncover additional details about the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.
This tragic incident has shocked the local community, with calls for justice and further clarity on the case.
