Bhutanese Refugee Scam: Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Home Minister’s Son

An arrest warrant has been issued for Pratik Thapa, son of former Home Minister and CPN (UML) leader Ram Bahadur Thapa, following accusations of his involvement in a Bhutanese refugee scam.

A Home Ministry official confirmed that the Kathmandu District Court issued the warrant for Pratik Thapa’s arrest. Thapa is accused of facilitating the illegal migration of Nepalis to the United States by disguising them as Bhutanese refugees.

According to sources, Pratik Thapa was allegedly involved in this trafficking ring and played a key role in sending Nepalis to the US under false pretenses. Investigators found evidence linking him to the case, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
