Bishwa Prakash Sharma Emphasizes Qatari Diplomacy for Bipin Joshi’s Rescue

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has called on the government to take immediate action to secure the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student who was abducted by Hamas in Israel. Joshi, who was in Israel for agricultural studies as part of the government’s “Learn and Earn” program, went missing during a terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7.

The Israeli government has officially informed Nepal that Bipin Joshi is in the custody of Hamas. In response to this distressing situation, Sharma addressed the issue during a House meeting, stating, “It has been confirmed that Nepali student Bipin Joshi is under the control of Hamas. Possibilities of rescuing him through the Qatari government have been pointed out. I want to draw the attention of the prime minister and the foreign minister through the speaker to take a serious initiative for the process.”

In addition to advocating for Bipin Joshi’s release, Sharma has also urged the government to engage in discussions with the Indian government to resume operations at the Kakarbhitta border point, which has been a key transit point between Nepal and India.
