‘Congress-UML Should Unite to Provide Stability to the Country’

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala underscored the crucial need for unity between the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML to ensure stability and development in the country. Speaking to media representatives at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Dr. Koirala emphasized the historical significance of collaboration between the two parties.

Highlighting past achievements, Dr. Koirala pointed out that significant milestones, such as the formation of the constitution, were attained through joint efforts of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. He expressed concerns over the current alliance’s inability to drive economic development and the frequent changes in government hindering progress.

Dr. Koirala stressed, “To establish a stable government and foster development, it is imperative for Nepali Congress and UML to stand together.” Reflecting on the past, he noted that despite four Prime Ministers being from communist parties during the first Constituent Assembly, the constitution was not formulated until the collaboration between Nepali Congress and UML.
