Emergency Shelter in Quake-hit Jajarkot [Photos]

In the earthquake-hit Jajarkot, emergency accommodation has been provided for those displaced by the earthquake. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Bhim Prasad Dhakal informed that emergency shelter has been arranged in the main affected areas through the combined efforts of the security agencies.

He mentioned that a total of 9 residences have been set up for this purpose. Each residence is capable of accommodating 10 people.

These residences were provided by the United States to the Armed Police Force of Nepal under the disaster relief system.

It has been confirmed that 157 people lost their lives in the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4, which struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot at midnight on Friday. According to the police, 105 people lost their lives in Jajarkot, and 52 people lost their lives in Rukum West due to the earthquake.

The earthquake has resulted in hundreds of injuries and caused extensive physical damage worth crores.
