Gagan Thapa Calls for 33% Women’s Representation in Government

In a recent statement, Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa voiced his concern about the inadequate representation of women in the government. Thapa emphasized the need to legally mandate a 33 percent participation of women in government positions, mirroring the current requirement in the parliament.

During an event held in Bhaktapur, Thapa urged women to come together and advocate for their rights while striving to secure their rightful positions across all platforms, including government roles. He stressed the importance of gender diversity and equal representation in shaping the nation’s policies and decisions.

Additionally, Thapa expressed worry over the growing job crisis within the domestic labor market. He called on the government to take significant measures to address this pressing issue, emphasizing the importance of finding solutions to tackle unemployment and ensure economic stability for all citizens.
