Health Minister Thapa Joins ‘Two Hours for the Nation’ Campaign

Kiran Thapa, Minister for Health of Bagmati Province, actively participated in the ‘Two Hours for the Nation’ campaign by contributing to the cleanup of the Araniko highway section at Lokanthali in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 on Saturday morning.
As part of the 104-week-long campaign, Minister Thapa wielded a broom and dustbin alongside campaigners to promote cleanliness along the highway. He emphasized the crucial role of local levels and residents in maintaining cleanliness and announced the government’s plan to establish a trauma centre in Bhaktapur to provide immediate treatment to road accident victims.
“Frequent road accidents occur along the Araniko highway. Directly transporting the injured to Kathmandu poses life risks. Therefore, the provincial government aims to upgrade Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital into a trauma centre, addressing the urgent need for such facilities in Bhaktapur,” said Minister Thapa.
He further stated that the province government will allocate the necessary budget in the upcoming fiscal year to upgrade the hospital, with the process already initiated.
Campaigner Nabaraj Kafle highlighted that the campaign has expanded to Changunarayan Municipality and collaborated with traffic police to launch an initiative aimed at reducing road accidents.
