Home Minister Vows to Uncover Truth Behind Gold Scandal

In a recent visit to the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office and Immigration Office, Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha reiterated his unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth behind the gold scandal, without being influenced by any undue forces.

During the visit on Friday, Minister Shrestha made a strong promise to take stringent action against all individuals involved in gold smuggling and to implement effective measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future. He recognized the need for improved precautions based on past experiences and admitted to existing shortcomings.

In response to journalists’ inquiries, Minister Shrestha firmly declared that the ongoing investigation into the gold smuggling case would remain untouched by external influences, specifically mentioning the three B’s – Balkot (CPN-UMl Chairman KP Oli’s residence), Baluwatar (Prime Minister’s Official residence), and Budhanilkantha (Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence).

Furthermore, he emphasized that those found guilty in the recent gold smuggling would be thoroughly prosecuted, aiming to get to the root of the matter.

Minister Shrestha also highlighted the proactive role of the Ministry of Home Affairs in leading the anti-corruption campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
