Kathmandu University and Ullens Education Foundation Sign LoI for Cyber Security and Machine Learning Courses
Kathmandu University (KU) and the Ullens Education Foundation have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to jointly develop and deliver academic courses in Cyber Security and Machine Learning. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the educational offerings of both institutions, aligning their programs with global standards and industry demands.
The collaboration addresses the growing significance of Cyber Security and Machine Learning in the digital age, according to a statement from the Ullens Education Foundation. The LoI outlines several key areas of collaboration, including exploring human resource needs in these fields at global, regional, and local levels, as stated by Som Paneru, President of Ullens Education Foundation.
Key aspects of the collaboration include:
- Human Resource Needs Assessment: Exploring the demand for professionals in Cyber Security and Machine Learning globally, regionally, and locally.
- Legal and Policy Evaluation: Recommending necessary legal and policy changes to support the development of these academic programs.
- Course Implementation: Establishing mechanisms to run the courses at KU’s Nala Constituent Campus.
- Long-term Partnership: Exploring opportunities for sustained collaboration to promote academic excellence, research initiatives, and the continuous development of new educational programs.
The LoI was signed by Manish Pokharel, Dean of the School of Engineering at KU, and Som Paneru, President of the Ullens Education Foundation. The signing ceremony was attended by KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Bhola Thapa and Registrar Prof. Achyut Wagle.
