Mandatory Installation of ‘Embossed’ Number Plates for Vehicles Registered in Pokhara

In a move aimed at enhancing security measures and streamlining vehicle registration processes, the Transport Management Office in Pokhara has announced the mandatory installation of ’embossed’ number plates on all types of vehicles registered under its jurisdiction, effective from Sunday.

Dilli Rijal, the head of the office, revealed that the implementation of this provision signifies a significant step towards modernizing vehicle identification practices. He emphasized that official documents for service users will only be issued upon the successful installation of the ’embossed number’ plate. The decision, based on the circular from the Department of Transportation and the office’s resolution, mandates the use of ’embossed number plates’ for all newly registered vehicles.

While acknowledging that the installation of ’embossed number plates’ had already commenced in Pokhara, Rijal expressed the need for increased effectiveness in ensuring compliance with the new regulation.

“The installation of embossed number plates has already begun in Pokhara, but we aim to make the process more efficient and foolproof,” remarked Office Head Rijal.

In an official notification, the office has communicated to service users and auto dealers about the mandatory nature of this requirement. Henceforth, all vehicles registered in the Pokhara office will be issued official documents only after the successful completion of the embossed number plate registration process.

Rijal further detailed that the technology-based embossed number plates will contain comprehensive information about the vehicle and its owner. This digital approach is expected to streamline record-keeping and facilitate swift identification of vehicles for various administrative and law enforcement purposes.

The Transport Management Office’s decision to implement ’embossed number plates’ aligns with the broader goal of improving road safety and ensuring a more organized and accountable vehicle registration system in Pokhara.
