Medical Education Investigation Commission report unveiled
The Ministry for Education, Science and Technology has made public the report of the ‘Medical Education Investigation Commission-2074 BS’ six years after it received the report from the commission.
The report recommends taking measures to address the irregularities in the medical sector including education, affiliation, entrance exam, entrance fees, and quality control-related issues. The ministry pledged that the recommendations of the commission will be implemented immediately.
The commission chaired by former Chairperson of the Special Court, Gauri Bahadur Karki was formed by the government by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette to probe the anomalies prevailing in the medical education sector. The commission was also mandated to present a report with recommendations.
