NA Deploys 4 Helicopters in Massive Earthquake Rescue Operation

In a swift and coordinated response to the devastating earthquake that struck the Jajarkot district of Nepal, the Nepal Army has dispatched four military helicopters to support ongoing search and rescue operations in the affected areas. The earthquake, which originated in Ramedanda, has left a trail of destruction in its wake, particularly impacting Khalanga Bazar and Nalgarh Municipality in the Bheri Municipality of Jajarkot.

The Nepal Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, confirmed that soldiers from two battalions have been deployed for search and rescue missions. This vital effort is aimed at helping the affected population, with a particular focus on ensuring the safety of those trapped or injured in the wake of the earthquake.

As of the latest update, the earthquake has resulted in the tragic loss of 132 lives in the Rukum West and Jajarkot regions, while an additional 140 individuals have sustained injuries. The numbers are expected to rise as rescue operations continue in the affected areas.

Brigadier General Bhandari also disclosed that a specialized team, equipped with crucial medical supplies, has been swiftly transported from Kathmandu to the affected region using a cargo plane and three helicopters. This medical support is aimed at providing immediate assistance to those in dire need of medical attention.

Furthermore, a 16-member medical team has been dispatched to the affected area to offer essential medical treatment to the injured individuals, underscoring the Nepal Army’s commitment to addressing the urgent needs of the affected communities.
