Nepal Celebrates the 44th World Tourism Day with Enthusiasm

Nepal is joining the global celebration of the 44th World Tourism Day today with a series of exciting programs and activities. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board, Department of Tourism, and various leading organizations in the tourism sector are coming together to mark this special occasion.

Under the banner of “Tourism and Green Investment,” Nepal is enthusiastically commemorating World Tourism Day this year. To ensure the day is celebrated with grandeur, the 44th World Tourism Day Main Function Committee, headed by Minister for Tourism Sudan Kiranti, has been established.

As part of the day’s festivities, Minister for Tourism Sudan Kiranti will personally extend a warm welcome to foreign tourists arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport. The welcome gesture will take place during the first flight’s arrival at 6:00 am this morning, symbolizing Nepal’s hospitality and commitment to the global tourism community.

Adding to the festive spirit, a vibrant morning rally will kick off from Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur, leading to Mangalbazaar at 7:30 am today. The route will showcase Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere, underlining its unique appeal to travelers worldwide. A formal program is also scheduled to be organized in the picturesque Patan Durbar area, providing a platform to discuss and celebrate the significance of sustainable tourism.

In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Tourism and Lalitpur Metropolis, today’s program will recognize and honor organizations that have contributed significantly to Nepal’s tourism sector, promoting economic growth and cultural exchange. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the vital role played by various stakeholders in nurturing Nepal’s tourism industry.

The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day is “Promoting Accessible Tourism for All.” Nepal’s enthusiastic celebration reflects its commitment to making tourism accessible and enjoyable for people of all backgrounds and abilities, while also highlighting the country’s dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly tourism practices.
