PM Dahal Vows to Bring Most Essential Federal Acts to Conclusion

Kathmandu, Dec 30/RSS: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed a strong commitment to formulating crucial laws to ensure the effective implementation of federalism in Nepal.

During a group meeting with the Chief Ministers of all seven provinces at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Dahal emphasized his dedication to implementing federalism, considering his role as an architect of federalism and a leader in constitution-making.

“As you all are aware, I had crafted the vision of a federal republic and struggled for this. I played a lead role in drafting this system in the constitution. Thus, the implementation of the constitution is my big concern and priority,” he stated.

PM Dahal highlighted the time-consuming process of bringing all parliamentary parties to a consensus in the lead-up to the implementation of federalism. He assured that the current government is swiftly working on formulating crucial laws such as the federal civil service act, federal education act, police adjustment act, and others necessary for the constitution’s implementation.

“Bills already presented in the parliament will be brought to a conclusion through discussion. I will put efforts to finalize them through discussions at the top level,” PM Dahal added.

During the meeting, Chief Ministers brought the government’s attention to the implementation of constitutional provisions related to federalism. They specifically addressed the constitutionally provisioned list of concurrent authorities, urging the implementation of the conclusions reached during the last Chief Ministers’ conference held in Pokhara.
