PM Dahal’s India visit to be held on May 13 or May 14
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s most talked about official visit to India will likely take place either on May 13 or May 14.
Pardafas sources revealed that India has sent the appropriate date for PM Dahal’s visit to India between May 11 to May 18. The notice came upon a request from Nepal’s government.
A notice sent by the Ministry of External Affairs of India through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that it was best for Nepali PM to visit India citing the busy schedule of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar.
Meanwhile, the secretary of PM Dahal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been working to schedule the visit within the given time. The PM will most likely visit the neighboring country on May 13 or May 14.
Dahal upon being elected as PM had made a formal decision to pay the first official visit to India. But, different speculations were being made recently after Dahal no decisions were made even after four months of holding the seat of the premiership.
The Indian side had also informed the Nepal government about the late visit to India. It had said that the Indian PM’s busy schedule had hindered Dahal’s official visit there.
PM Modi is currently occupied by the pending Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. Currently, Bharatiya Janata Party is at the helm of Karnataka’s legislature but the opposition Indian National Congress has been looked at as a tough competitor there.
Similarly, foreign minister S. Jaishankar is said to have been busy with the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
