Prachanda Have More ‘Political Character’ Than Oli: Durga Prasai

Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai stated that, in comparison to CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, the Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Center Chairman have more of a “political character.”

During a press conference held on Tuesday morning, following an incident where he was targeted with black soot by a group of youths associated with CPN-UML, Prasai remarked that despite his criticisms, Prachanda did not react, while UML resorted to an assault and the black soot incident. He thanked UML Youth Leader Mahesh Basnet and indicated that the political game had now begun.

Prasai accused Oli of lacking political character and instead pointed out that Prime Minister Prachanda and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha possessed such attributes.

After the press conference held at a hotel in the capital at 12:45 in the afternoon on Monday, Prasai was subjected to an application of black soot on his face.

Today, he also alleged that the UML group had attempted to silence him by preventing him from expressing his views in the republic.

In recent times, Prasai has been engaged in protests advocating for the waiver of loans from banks, microfinance institutions, and cooperatives. In February of the previous year, Prasai had announced the formation of a ‘black soot squad’ to apply black soot on the heads of banks and financial institutions as a form of protest.
