‘Rastriya Swatantra Party is Misleading Youth’

CPN-UML deputy general-secretary Prithivi Subba Gurung has stated that populism cannot foster the development of the country.

During the first Gandaki Province convention of UML, he criticized the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for creating confusion among the youth through their reliance on populism.

“There is considerable political confusion at present. Our youth are engrossed in Facebook and TikTok, leading to confusion,” remarked Gurung. “There are individuals in politics who lack any philosophy, plan, vision, or a coherent policy for the nation.”

Gurung firmly believes that a party devoid of a clear policy cannot propel the country forward. “We have witnessed such occurrences in India, America, Russia, and Australia,” he asserted. “However, populism, which is characterized by a party lacking a vision, policy, and plan, cannot drive the nation’s progress.”

Gurung further emphasized, “In our country, there exists a party known as the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, which lacks vision, planning, and a coherent policy, leading the youth astray. It is imperative to dispel this confusion.”

Deputy Secretary General Gurung expressed that while there is much room for improvement in the federal democratic republic, monarchy cannot serve as an alternative to the republic.

“There are numerous aspects that require enhancement in our federal democratic republic. Nonetheless, monarchy cannot be considered as an alternative, as it is not favored by the majority,” stated Gurung, who also previously served as the chief minister of Gandaki.
