Three Arrested in Sunsari Shooting Incident, Search Ongoing for Others

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a recent shooting in Dewangunj Rural Municipality of Sunsari district.

According to Superintendent of Police Suman Kumar Timsina, those apprehended include Shiva Kumar Mehata, 21, of Dewangunj-7, and Rabin Kumar Yadav and Pintu Yadav of Dewangunj-1.

Mehata, who sustained injuries during the incident, is currently undergoing treatment in Biratnagar under police custody.

Police have launched a search operation to locate other individuals involved. Authorities suspect that two separate groups were linked to the crime—three individuals from one group have been arrested, while three others, including Kameswor Yadav, believed to be directly involved in the shooting, remain at large.

Preliminary investigations suggest that all individuals connected to the case have criminal backgrounds, SP Timsina confirmed. The search for the remaining suspects is ongoing.
