UML Bagmati Convention: Candidate List to Be Released at 8 PM Today, Election Set for Tomorrow

The election schedule for the CPN-UML Bagmati Province Committee has been updated to facilitate the selection of new leadership. In the revised schedule, nominations for election candidates will be accepted from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the preliminary list of candidates set to be unveiled at 7:00 PM. Following this, the final list of candidates will be published at 8:00 PM, marking the commencement of the election process on Thursday morning.

The nomination process is currently underway as stakeholders strive to reach a consensus regarding the future leadership of the first Bagmati Province Committee of CPN-UML. The electoral roll was published slightly later than the initially scheduled time at the party’s central office in Chyasal.

Sher Bahadur Tamang, a member of the presiding committee overseeing the closed session, revealed that discussions are ongoing to foster consensus among potential candidates for the chairmanship. The nomination registration program is scheduled for 2:00 PM, followed by efforts to reach a consensus. Notable aspirants, including Keshab Raj Pandey, Kailash Dhungel, Krishna Prasad Dahal, and Sanukumar Shrestha, have actively participated in these discussions.

To manage the closed session effectively, a presiding committee led by Guru Baral, the committee in-charge, has been formed. This committee includes esteemed members such as Tamang, Devi Gyawali, Pokharel, Gokul Prasad Baskota, Kamal Chaulagain, Rameshwar Phuyal, Krishna Bahadur Rai, Sushila Nepal, Parbat Gurung, and Ranta Gurung.
