AIG Deepak Thapa Assumes Leadership of Kathmandu Valley Police Office; AIG Shyamalal Gyawali Transferred
The Kathmandu Valley Police Office has welcomed Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Deepak Thapa as its new head, following his transfer from the Administration Department of the Police Headquarters. The official reception took place during a program held at the office on Saturday.
AIG Thapa’s appointment marks a significant transition in the leadership of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, as he takes over the reins from AIG Shyamalal Gyawali, who previously held the position. A farewell was bid to AIG Gyawali, who has now been reassigned to the work department of the police headquarters.
The reshuffle of senior police officials was initiated based on a decision made during the Council of Ministers meeting on August 15. This decision led to the transfer of five AIGs, each taking on new roles within the police hierarchy.
In addition to AIGs Thapa and Gyawali, AIGs Meera Chaudhary, Tek Prasad Rai, and Sandeep Bhandari also underwent transfers, as part of this organizational adjustment.
AIG Meera Choudhary, previously associated with the Operation Department, has been reassigned to the Administration Department, where her skills and expertise are expected to contribute effectively.
AIG Tek Prasad Rai, who was stationed at the National Police Academy, has been transferred to the Human Resource Development Department, a move that is anticipated to leverage his capabilities in this new role.
Similarly, AIG Sandeep Bhandari, who held a position in the Human Resources Department, has been relocated to the National Police Academy, aligning his responsibilities with this new posting.
The recent reallocations within the senior ranks of the police force aim to optimize the skills and experiences of these accomplished individuals across various departments, ensuring a well-rounded and efficient operation within the law enforcement agency.
