
Army Command and Staff College Concludes Convocation Ceremony, Honoring Outstanding Officers


The convocation ceremony of the Army Command and Staff College, which commenced on Baisakh 03, 2081 BS, concluded today on Falgun 15, 2081 BS. Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel, the chief guest of the ceremony, congratulated the student officers who successfully completed the training and extended his best wishes.
During the ceremony, General Sigdel presented the Best Student Award to Sergeant Sajan Silwal, who secured the highest marks in the training, and the Best International Student Officer Award to Lieutenant Colonel Avijit Roy of the Indian Army. Additionally, the 26th edition of the college’s annual publication, The Shivapuri Journal, was released. Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor Kesharjung Baral awarded Sergeant Sajan Silwal for his first position in the master’s in strategic studies (MSS) program, while Acting Education Officer Brigadier General Manoj Thapa presented awards to Sergeant Bivek Rai and Sergeant Sichyan Moktan for excelling in the Commandant Paper.
A total of 67 officers graduated from the training, including 54 from the Nepal Army, one each from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal, and the National Investigation Department, along with one officer each from friendly nations including Bangladesh, China, India, Kenya, Maldives, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
Established on Paush 14, 2049 BS, the college began offering command and staff training on Bhadra 20, 2050 BS, with 12 student officers. Since 2010, the institution has trained 1,415 officers, including 1,227 from the Nepal Army, 16 from Nepal Police, 28 from the Armed Police Force, 19 from the National Investigation Department, one from the Ministry of Defense, and 124 from various countries.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff, senior officers from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, military attachés from various countries, dignitaries from educational organizations affiliated with the college, and family members of the graduating officers.
