Budget Allocated to Open Alternative Route for Muglin-Narayangadh Road

The Department of Roads (DoR) has initiated the opening of a new alternative route along the Muglin-Narayangadh road section, addressing long-standing demands from locals for better connectivity.

The new track, spanning from Muglin to Gaindakot via Gaighat, Dasdhunga, Thimura, and Devpur, is expected to ease traffic pressure on the busy highway. The department has allocated Rs 26.93 million for the project in the current fiscal year, with work already underway to open the track from Pulzeep in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun district.

The first phase of the project aims to improve access to areas currently disconnected from the national highway, including Devghat Rural Municipality — a significant religious pilgrimage site.

Local resident Keshav Chandra Neupane expressed gratitude, noting that the government had finally responded to repeated appeals from locals. The alternative route is expected to boost religious tourism and improve the region’s connectivity.

Devghat Rural Municipality chair Til Bahadur Thapa pledged to actively support the project, highlighting that the road would provide better access to Devghat and promote the area’s religious and tourism potential.

The alternative route is expected to play a crucial role in reducing congestion along the busy Muglin-Narayangadh road while enhancing the region’s economic and tourism prospects.
