CPN (Maoist Centre) to Contest By-Elections in Ilam and Bajhang
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to contest the upcoming by-elections in Ilam and Bajhang constituencies. The decision was made during a pivotal meeting of party office-bearers convened at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today.
Prime Minister and party chairperson, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, provided a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing political landscape and contemporary issues during the meeting.
Following the deliberations, party vice-chairperson and spokesperson, Agni Prasad Sapkota, addressed the media, confirming the party’s intention to field candidates in the by-elections for Ilam constituency no. 1 and Bajhang constituency no. 1 Province Assembly constituency ‘A’.
Sapkota revealed that discussions are underway regarding the selection of candidates for the aforementioned constituencies. The final decision regarding the candidates will be made in the subsequent meeting, after recommendations are received.
Moreover, the spokesperson emphasized that while provincial government matters were discussed during the meeting, a conclusive decision would be reached after thorough consultations within the ruling coalition parties. He assured that the finalization of provincial government arrangements would be accomplished by Thursday.
