‘Federal Civil Service Act to be tabled in Cabinet soon’

Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Aman Lal Modi, has said that the government would table the Federal Civil Service Act in the Parliament to strengthen the federal administration.

“The draft of the Act has been prepared by holding discussions with stakeholders. If not today, it will be presented in the Cabinet the next day,” he mentioned.

At an interaction organised by Province and Local Governance Support Programme (PLGSP) here today, Minister Modi argued that the Act would resolve the problems seen in the implementation of administrative federalism.

Sharing that an arrangement has been made where employees should be present in the office as per the determined quota in order to maintain administrative reforms, he added that employees who served in remote areas are going to be transferred to urban areas.

“The Ministry has sought applications from employees who have not got an opportunity of posting in remote areas for their transfer in the place of their choice,” shared Minister Modi. He mentioned that he started administrative reforms even after bearing political and administrative interference and pressure.

Similarly, the National Programme Manager of PLGSP, Bhupendra Sapkota, said the ministry has been organising various programmes to strengthen inter-governmental relations.

Saying the role of media persons in strengthening relations at the province and local level was crucial, he pointed out the need for support of the media sector to resolve problems seen in the implementation of administrative federalism.
