Gagan Thapa requests PM to cut down wasteful expenses

Nepali Congress (NC) General-Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa urged all the parliamentarians as well as government to cut down wasteful expenses in the quake-hit Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ here on Sunday, General Secretary Thapa, also former minister, appealed to the PM to consider depositing the Parliamentary Development Fund’s amount in the Reconstruction Fund for post-quake reconstruction and relief operation, according to Thapa’s Secretariat.

He suggested the Head of the Government that government provided basic services to the quake-hit people and then only seek support from donor agencies and other sources, informed the Secretariat.

Calling for stopping wasteful spending of the government, he requested the PM to deposit Rs 8.2 billion allocated for the Parliamentary Constituency Infrastructure Development Programme to the Reconstruction Fund.

Furthermore, he urged the PM to deliver to the quake survivors based on needs and urgency.
