Home Minister Khand directs for speeding up rescue works
Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has directed the administration to use helicopter for speeding up rescue works in the floods and inundations caused by incessant rains in various parts of Dang district.
Home Minister Khand telephoned Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh, Chief of Security Coordination Division at Ministry, Phanindra Mani Pokhrel, Chief of Disaster and Conflict Management Division at Ministry, Pradip Koirala, Chief District Officer in Dang, Hira Lal Regmi, Lumbini Province Chief of Nepal Police, DIG Nal Prasad Upadhyay, and Lumbini Province Chief of the Armed Police, DIG Bidur Khadka, and reminded them of the need for prompt rescue, rehabilitation and search in the disaster-hit areas.
Assistant Chief District Officer in Dang, Sabitra Pun, informed that after the direction of Home Minister, two helicopters of Nepal Army were readied in Surkhet. However, adverse weather caused difficulty to reach the incident sites.
Similarly, the Home Minister directed his subordinates to manage rescue, rehabilitation, distribution of relief and treatment to those suffering the landslides and floods in various parts of the country.
So far, seven houses have been inundated at Lamahi Municipality, 211 at Rajpur Rural Municipality, 585 at Gadhwa Rural Municipality, 250 at Rapti Rural Municipality in Dang.
However, no human fatality has been reported, according to District Administration Office, Dang.
Similarly, the roadways are damaged at Kalakote, Dhankhola and Musotkhola.
