Kathmandu-2’s Water Problem: RSP’s Gautam Pushes Minister for Immediate Solutions

In a recent social media post on X (formerly Twitter), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sobita Gautam highlighted the critical issue of drinking water in Kathmandu constituency 2. Following the conclusion of the second session of Parliament on November 2, 2023, Gautam actively engaged with citizens during a three-day door-to-door campaign and conducted a comprehensive survey across her constituency.

Gautam expressed her concern in the post, stating, “After the conclusion of the second session of Parliament, while actively engaging with citizens and gathering suggestions through a door-to-door campaign, and comprehensively surveying all areas of the constituency, it became evident that the issue of drinking water is particularly pressing.”

Taking prompt action, the lawmaker brought the matter to the attention of Minister of Water Supply, Mahindra Ray Yadav. In her communication with the minister, Gautam urged the utilization of all available resources to address the significant challenge of drinking water in Kathmandu constituency 2.

Moreover, Gautam called for a comprehensive discussion on the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Water Supply. Emphasizing the need for a long-term solution to the drinking water issue, she underlined the importance of sustainable measures to ensure access to clean and safe water for the residents of her constituency.

 

The second session of the House of Representatives (HoR), which commenced on May 7, 2023, concluded after a total of 180 days on November 2, 2023. Following the parliamentary session, the RSP initiated a three-day door-to-door campaign starting from November 18, aiming to actively connect with the citizens and address their concerns.

Sobita Gautam’s proactive approach to addressing the drinking water crisis reflects a commitment to serving the needs of her constituents and advocating for essential resources and infrastructure improvements in Kathmandu constituency 2. The issue is expected to gain further attention as discussions unfold within the Ministry of Water Supply and relevant stakeholders.
