NC’s Picks for By-elections: Dambar for Ilam-2, Abhishek for Bajhang 1(A)
Nepali Congress (NC), the prominent opposition party, has declared its candidates for the forthcoming by-elections. Dambar Khadka has been nominated to contest from the Ilam-2 constituency, while Abhishek Singh will represent the party in Bajhang-1(A).
The by-elections are scheduled to take place on April 27, aiming to fill vacant seats in these constituencies.
Dambar Khadka, who previously contested in the 2079 elections, faced defeat against CPN-UML’s Subash Chandra Nembang. Abhishek Singh, on the other hand, hails from a political lineage, being the son of the late Sudurpaschim Province minister, Prithvi Bahadur Singh.
The selection of candidates was finalized after three days of jubilant celebrations within the party. The decision was made during a morning meeting held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence.
