Nepali Congress Lawmakers to Donate Half-Month Salary to Earthquake Victims

In a compassionate and humanitarian gesture, the lawmakers of the Nepali Congress (NC) have unanimously decided to contribute half of their monthly salaries to support the earthquake victims in the aftermath of the recent natural disaster.

This benevolent decision was reached during a meeting of the NC’s parliamentary committee. The NC’s parliamentary party working committee convened at NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Dhumbarahi, where they passed the resolution to donate 15 days’ worth of salaries from their parliamentary members. The funds collected will be utilized for the relief, rehabilitation, and medical treatment of those affected by the devastating earthquake.

NC’s Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak expressed the party’s deep condolences and concern in an official press release issued today. The NC parliamentary party working committee conveyed their heartfelt sorrow for the loss of lives and the extensive damages resulting from the earthquake in Jajarkot that struck on Friday night. In addition, the committee paid its respects to the individuals who tragically lost their lives and conveyed their best wishes for the swift recovery of those injured.
