Nepal’s beautiful nature and rich culture attracts world-President Paudel

President Ram Chandra Poudel has remarked that Nepal has become a global center of attraction due to its beautiful nature and rich cultural heritage. During his address at the inaugural ceremony of the reconstructed Balkumari Temple in Lalitpur, President Poudel praised the government’s efforts to rebuild and preserve the significant historical sites of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur.

“Kathmandu Valley is renowned for its art and multiculturalism, and the commendable efforts of Lalitpur Metropolitan City in revitalizing numerous heritage sites bring a sense of rejuvenation,” President Poudel emphasized. He also highlighted Lalitpur Metropolitan City as an exemplary municipality among local levels nationwide, suggesting that if others emulate its efforts, the country will progress.

Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan of Lalitpur Metropolitan City mentioned that the metropolis had provided financial support for the reconstruction of Balkumari Temple, which suffered damage in the 2015 earthquake. He pointed out that the Public Procurement Act of 2063 BS posed challenges to the construction of archaeological heritage sites like Devalaya and Shivalaya, recommending its amendment.

Khadga Lal Maharjan, Chairperson of the Balkumari Temple Conservation and Reconstruction Committee, provided insights into the historical background and the reconstruction process of the temple.
