Newly-Appointed Koshi CM Meets UML Chair Oli

Newly-appointed Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Kedar Karki, held a crucial meeting with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli in Balkot on Sunday. Backed by 39 MPs of UML, Karki’s meeting with Oli came just a day after taking office.

Karki’s recent visit to Kathmandu included a prior meeting with Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala. Karki assumed the role of Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168 (5) of the Constitution and is scheduled to take his oath of office today.

In an effort to build a cooperative coalition, Karki, who switched from the Nepali Congress party, plans to appoint a minister from CPN-UML, as well as a Nepali Congress MP who supported his cause.
