One-way traffic resumes along Prithvi Highway
One-way traffic has resumed along Prithvi Highway from 10:00 am today after 18 hours.
The vehicular movement was obstructed at the border of Dhunibensi Municipality and Thakre Rural Municipality in Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway after a motorable bridge over Ganeshkhola (rivulet) caved in on Monday evening.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dhading, Santu Lal Prasad Jaisawar said the one-way vehicular movement has been brought into operation after fixing the gabion wire. Nepal Police, Nepali Army and locals carried out activities the whole night to resume the traffic.
There is a long queue of vehicles at Dharke and its surrounding areas following the obstruction of vehicular movement.
Police have stopped vehicles heading towards Kathmandu at Jogimara Malekhu, Ghatbesi and Adamghat bazaar.
Police said it would take a few more hours to send the vehicles to their destinations as hundreds of vehicles were stranded due to road obstruction.
