‘Party Chose Me for My Long Political Journey and Role Played So Far’

Yubraj Sharma, the National Assembly (NA) candidate from the Nepali Congress, has said his party decided to pick him as the NA chair candidate with full support for his long political journey and role played so far.

Talking to the media in the Federal Parliament Building in Naya Baneshwor after filing his candidacy some time back, Sharma said he was worthy of the post politically and academically.

Sharma asserted that he would work for the dignity of the post and parliamentary system once elected as the NA Chair.

The NC leader said that he was jailed in 2024 BS in the democratic movement, was the founding member of the Nepal Student’s Union in 2027 BS and had taken political training from the late BP Koirala in 2025 BS.

Sharma served as the district committee member of the Nepali Congress in 2033 BS and was elevated to the Banke district committee president in 2045 BS and took active participation in all democratic movements during his five-decade-long political journey.

Sharma has been an Upper House Member for the past two years.
