Political Parties’ Meeting Ends Without Consensus
08th Apr 2024
The meeting among four key political parties, steered by Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, wrapped up without reaching common ground.
The meeting was convened in response to the Nepali Congress (NC)’s persistent demand for the establishment of a parliamentary probe committee to scrutinize the alleged involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative scam, which the NC labeled as a ‘non-negotiable’ prerequisite.
Despite the NC’s unwavering insistence during the session, advocating for the committee’s formation, the ruling alliance remained firm in their refusal to comply with the demand.
As a result of this deadlock, the meeting concluded without any agreement being reached.
