Prachanda Alleges Attempts to Undermine Constitution

CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has alleged that efforts are underway to subvert the constitution under the guise of amendment. Addressing a mass assembly in Siraha as part of the party’s Tarai-Madhes Public Awakening Campaign, Prachanda asserted that any attempt to dismantle the constitution—achieved through the people’s war and movement—would be thwarted.
He accused the ruling parties of attempting to curtail people’s rights by advocating for constitutional amendments and promoting a two-party system. Prachanda highlighted the campaign’s objective of reconnecting with the Madhesi people and reaffirmed the party’s longstanding commitment to their rights and dignity.
Recalling the formation of the Madhesi National Liberation Front during the people’s war, Prachanda also mentioned the advancement of the postal highway project during his premiership through discussions with India. He pledged to upgrade various road networks in Siraha, including the Choharba-Siraha, Siraha-Kalyanpur-Mirchaya roads, and the Madar customs office.
CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders Matrika Prasad Yadav, Bishwanath Sah, Ajay Shankar Nayak, and Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Mahendra Raya Yadav also addressed the mass assembly.
