President Paudel and PM Dahal extend felicitations to King Charles III on coronation

President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal congratulated British King Charles III on his coronation on Saturday.

President Paudel praised the valuable works of the King in the past as the Prince of Wales, particularly his efforts towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement, stating that the president acknowledged the growing cooperation between Nepal and the UK across multiple areas of mutual interest. The president also recalled the King’s connection with Nepal, citing his numerous visits to the country as a Prince.

In a separate message, Prime Minister Dahal also extended his congratulations and best wishes to King Charles III on behalf of the people and the government. The prime minister recalled the King’s kind personal gesture during Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquakes. Furthermore, he stated that this year marked the centenary of the Nepal-UK Friendship Treaty of 1923, and emphasized the goodwill, mutual respect, and cooperation between the two countries.

The coronation ceremony of King Charles III was held on Saturday, which was the largest ceremonial event in Britain in seven decades. Foreign Minister NP Saud represented Nepal at the ceremony held in London.
