
President Ram Chandra Paudel to Offer Tika to the Public on Bada Dashain


President Ram Chandra Paudel is set to offer tika and jamara to the general public today, marking the Bada Dashain festival. The ceremony will take place at the President’s official residence, Shital Niwas, between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., as announced by the President’s Office.
Prior to this, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the President will offer tika to VVIPs and VIPs. These dignitaries include lawmakers, deputy prime ministers, provincial chiefs, ministers, justices, and officials from various constitutional bodies. Members of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and civil servants are also invited to receive tika from the Head of State.
Earlier in the day, President Paudel received tika, jamara, and blessings from his 94-year-old elder brother, Dundiraj Paudel, at the auspicious time of 11:36 a.m. He will also be taking tika from his gurus on this occasion. Following the ritual, the President is set to offer tika to his family members, including First Lady Sabita Paudel, according to his personal secretariat.
This tradition is part of the Bijaya Dashami celebrations, where receiving tika and blessings from elders is a significant part of the festivities. The event at Shital Niwas is open to all those wishing to partake in the auspicious occasion.
