Trafficking of Nepali Girls to China for Prostitution Uncovered
The Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau has uncovered a new criminal scheme involving the trafficking of Nepali girls to China for prostitution. The operation, orchestrated by Chinese criminal gangs under various guises, has revealed a disturbing trend.
According to the bureau, a girl from remote village, referred to as “Babarmahal 26,” was trafficked to China after being married off to a Chinese citizen in a Nepali court. The gang promised her a green card and a prosperous future in Nepal if she married a Chinese man. However, upon arrival in China, she was forced into prostitution, sexual exploitation, and labor exploitation.
The gang orchestrated the marriage at the Kathmandu District Court, with the assistance of Manmaya Ghale, who has been arrested by the bureau. Investigations revealed that Manmaya herself is married to a Chinese national and was involved in trafficking Babarmahal 26, exploiting her vulnerable economic condition.
Babarmahal 26 was taken to China a year ago by Manmaya and other gang members. It was further revealed that Manmaya sold her to the Chinese gang for five lakh rupees. The bureau’s spokesperson, SP Gautam Mishra, confirmed that this incident is not an isolated case. He noted that many Nepali girls are trafficked to China for various forms of exploitation, including labor exploitation, sexual exploitation, and prostitution.
SP Mishra stated that after receiving information about Babarmahal 26’s exploitation in China, they successfully rescued her. “We are conducting a detailed investigation into this incident,” SP Mishra told epardafas. “We are also searching for other individuals involved in this trafficking ring.”
The bureau is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to human trafficking to prevent further exploitation of vulnerable individuals.
