Two-Day Service Disruption at DOFE Amid Server Troubles

The Department of Foreign Employment has encountered a setback in its online services, as the Foreign Employment Information Management System server experiences technical difficulties. The disruption has impacted the issuance and renewal of labour permits for both institutions and individuals, rendering the online process unavailable for the past two days.

Madan Dahal, the Director General of the department, addressed the issue, explaining that the disruption is a result of essential repairs being conducted on the server. The department is actively working to restore normalcy to its online services, with an emphasis on resolving the server issues promptly.

Dahal reported that the department is currently in the process of transferring its data files to the Government Integrated Data Center in Singhadarbar. This transfer has led to a temporary suspension of certain functions, including the ability to upload new documents into the department’s system. Despite these limitations, Dahal reassured the public that other essential tasks and operations within the department are functioning as usual.

“We anticipate that the system will come into operation from today evening or tomorrow morning,” stated Dahal, expressing confidence in the ongoing efforts to address the server issues.

As the department works diligently to resolve the technical problems, individuals and institutions are advised to stay updated on the situation and await further announcements regarding the resumption of online services for labour permits. The Department of Foreign Employment assures the public that every effort is being made to minimize the impact of the disruption and expedite the return to regular operations.
