Acting CJ Karki Recommended for Chief Justice by Constitutional Council

The Constitutional Council convened earlier today in Singha Durbar and has put forth Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki as their recommendation for the role of Chief Justice.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, was attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung, as well as the leader of the main opposition party in the House of Representatives, KP Sharma Oli.

Following discussions amongst the Council members, they came to a decision on this matter.
