Brigadier General Dhakal appointed as Deputy Force Commander in peacekeeping mission
Brigadier General Chok Bahadur Dhakal of the Nepali Army has been appointed the Deputy Force Commander of the United Nations Peace Mission. He is appointed as Deputy Force Commander in Lebanon under peacekeeping mission.
According to a top military source, the United Nations has appointed him as Deputy Force Commander and he will soon go to Lebanon to take responsibility.
Dhakal has become the second Nepali soldier to take responsibility as Deputy Force Commander in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. Till 2019, Shivaram Khadka played the role of Deputy Force Commander at the same place.
Dhakal of Takukot in Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality of Gorkha was working as a ‘Military Assistant’ to Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma.
Brigadier General Dhakal, who has been in the army for 35 years, will reach Lebanon within a month and take responsibility.
