In the second attempt, JSP President Upendra Yadav was elected from Bara-2
Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) president Upendra Yadav has won from Bara-2 as a member of the House of Representatives. When the counting of votes was completed last night, he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives after defeating his closest rival by a margin of 5,081 votes.
The winning candidate Yadav got 28,415 votes. Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Upadhyay informed that his closest opponent, Shivchandra Kushwaha of Janamat Party, got 23,334 votes.
Similarly, Purushottam Poudel of CPN (UML) got 10,216 votes, Ramesh Kharel of Rashtriya Swatantra Party got 2,829 votes, Aam Janata Party candidate Arun Kumar Gyawali got 2,738 votes, Sonalal Sah of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got 199 votes.
Kamrullah Ansari of Civil Liberation Party got 109 votes and Mukti Yadav, candidate of Nepal Labor Kisan Party got 60 votes.
68,887 people voted in the by-election held last Sunday in Bara-2. In the House of Representatives election held on 20th of November last year, JSP President Yadav was defeated in Saptari Region No. 2 by Janamat Party President Dr. SK Raut.
Bye-elections were held in that constituency after Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who was elected from JSP in Bara-2, was elected as the Vice President. Chief Electoral Officer Upadhyay distributed the certificate to the elected JSP President Yadav last night.
