NC’s Demand for a Probe Committee is Both Unnecessary and Impractical: Oli

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Oli, has raised objections to the Nepali Congress’s (NC) insistence on establishing a parliamentary committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

Speaking to journalists at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor on Tuesday, Oli remarked that the demand for a probe committee by the NC is both unnecessary and impractical.

“It is undemocratic for a party like the NC to disrupt parliamentary proceedings out of frustration for being removed from the government,” stated the UML Chair.

The controversy stems from NC’s demand during a previous parliamentary session to establish a committee to investigate Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in a cooperative scam.

“The formation of a probe committee is neither feasible nor necessary,” Oli reiterated, dismissing the NC’s warnings of obstructing House proceedings if their demands are not met.
