Nepal Sets Target of 231 Runs for India

In the ongoing Asia Cup cricket clash between Nepal and the formidable Test nation, India, Nepal’s cricket team showcased their batting prowess with a stellar performance. Despite the challenge of losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Nepal managed to post an impressive total of 230 runs in 48.2 overs. Each player contributed their best on the crease, contributing to this commendable score.

Opening batsman Aasif Sheikh stole the limelight with a well-deserved half-century against India in the Asia Cup. Aasif’s gritty innings of 58 runs featured 8 boundaries, underlining his exceptional form. Aasif Sheikh and his opening partner, Kushal Bhurtel, set the stage for Nepal’s innings by forging a solid 65-run partnership for the first wicket. Kushal Bhurtel himself contributed 38 runs off just 25 balls, including two sixes and three fours.

The all-rounder, Sompal Kami, played a pivotal role in Nepal’s batting showcase, contributing 48 runs, which included two powerful sixes and a boundary. Dipendra Singh Aairee added 29 runs to Nepal’s scoreboard, while Gulsan Jha demonstrated his prowess with 23 runs before departing.

Even the lower-order batsmen made valuable contributions, with Sandeep Lamichhane chipping in with 9 runs, Bhim Sarki scoring 7 runs, captain Rohit Kumar Paudel making 5 runs, and Kushal Malla adding 2 runs. Karan KC remained unbeaten with 2 runs to his name.
