Nepal’s Cricket Dream Realized, Ready to Make Mark: Coach Desai

The National Cricket Team Coach, Monty Desai, expressed his elation as the dream of the previous generation of Nepalese cricketers is set to come true. He remarked, “Every generation (of Nepal Cricket) had a dream that one day they will play with big nations…Today their dream is coming true.”

Ahead of their much-anticipated match against India in the Asia Cup, Coach Desai emphasized that the Nepali team is fully prepared to utilize their strengths and seize the opportunity to establish their identity on the cricketing stage.

The clash between Nepal and India is scheduled to take place in Kandy on Monday. Pakistan has already secured their spot in the Super Four from Group A. India, on the other hand, has a chance to automatically progress to the next round if Nepal is defeated or if the games face cancellation.

Desai stated, “We have played League 2 and Asian qualifiers,” and confirmed that Nepal would bring its A-game against India. He also mentioned the excitement among Nepali players at the prospect of facing Indian cricketing superstars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, predicting fierce competition on the field.

India will automatically enter the next round if Nepal is defeated or if the games are cancelled.
